COMS is appealing to new young and older members, to engage in timely medical-social-political-fiscal topics at stimulating venues, including:

• Presentations on timely issues selected via a ballot of 20 possible topics/speakers
• Both sides of the aisle to present (D: Wyden, Stiegler;  R: Telfer, Kitzhaber)
• Evening meetings with meals on a day (Monday) favored by a vast majority of those polled
• Spouses invited and childcare provided at most events
• Summer picnic with golf tournament, pool activities, BBQ, and entertaining speaker
• Holiday party at High Desert Museum replete with Detour Jazz Band (dancing!), Typhoons catering, back-stage tour of museum, childcare, and year-end celebration

and for 2010, a membership fee of $75 (1/2 usual fee) for both both member and spouse and for 2010 with 8 events planned of which 6 are evening meetings, 1 is the picnic with speaker, and 1 is the holiday party

Venues will vary from Awbrey Glen to The Loft of Bend, from Brasada Ranch to the High Desert Museum
